Committees shall be the basic organizational units of AIPC for the conduct of its work and activities. Each committee shall convey budget and expense needs to the AIPC Board for approval. The following are the current standing committees of the organization:
The Hospitality Committee supports AIPC activities such as club tournaments, AIPC-hosted FPUSA tournaments, special events and socials (e.g., New Year’s Day, July 4, Labor Day). Hospitality arranges for tents, tables, food, snacks, coffee, water, plasticware, paper plates etc. as the event warrants. The Committee shall coordinate with the Competition Committee to ensure timely set up (and clean up) for competition events.
The Competition Committee is responsible for planning, organizing and conducting AIPC tournaments (Spring and Fall), AIPC-hosted FPUSA tournaments, inter-club and intra-club challenges, training clinics and special community events.
As applicable, the Competition Committee shall adhere to FPUSA Tournament Guidelines including assigning a tournament director, identifying
registration / scorekeeping personnel and securing referees.
The Committee shall ensure a coordinated effort with the Groundskeeping and Hospitality Committees. The Committee shall also coordinate with the
PR / Marketing Committee to effect pre- and post-competition publicity in selected media.
The Groundskeeping Committee is generally responsible for maintaining AIPC's courts to ensure playability and safety. For regular club play,
duties include periodically clearing debris from both the courts and surrounding walkways, keeping the storage box in good order and maintaining timber drill holes for scoreboards and dead boule receptacles.
For competitions, including AIPC tournaments and AIPC-hosted FPUSA tournaments, the Committee shall set string lines, mark string lines with orange marking paint, and set out scoreboards, scoring tabs and rings. AIPC furnishes rakes, blowers, tools, string and equipment for use by the Committee. The Committee shall coordinate with the Competition Committee / Tournament Director to ensure timely set-up for competition events. Grounds crew should be available during competitions to repair any broken string lines, do additional court maintenance and re-configure court layout(s) per the Tournament Director’s instructions.
Per the bylaws, the Nominating Committee is responsible for assembling a slate of candidates for officers to be elected during the first quarter of each fiscal year.
The Public Relations / Communications Committee is responsible for developing and overseeing a strategy for promoting AIPC’s public image via the following tasks and activities.
